Sazgar Engineering Works has opened a vehicle assembly plant in the Philippines, extending its manufacturing operations into Southeast Asia, Business Recorder reported on October 30. The facility in Laguna province is built to produce about 12,000 three-wheelers each year, with both electric and petrol-powered models planned.
At the opening, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said the investment would support local manufacturing and create jobs, while also providing work for domestic suppliers, including battery-component businesses. He said the electric models can travel 100 to 210 kilometres per charge. Sazgar had identified the Philippines as an intended export market in September 2025, alongside Mexico and Afghanistan, and has previously shipped three-wheelers to several international markets.
