    New NBA 2K27presents overhauled gameplay

    Beyoncé releases remastered deluxe birthday album

    TO MARK Beyoncé’s birthday, she has released a remastered B’DAY, her coming-of-age second album. It was first released on Sept. 4, 2006 after a two-week recording session. For this milestone release, Beyoncé went back to the boards and worked on remastering songs. The music videos, originally captured on 35mm, are now remastered and re-colored and finished in 4k, including “Déjà Vu,” featuring JAY-Z, and directed by Sophie Muller, also out now.

    Avengers: Endgame Encorereturns to Philippine cinemas

    ON Sept. 23, Marvel Studios’Avengers: Endgame Encore will return to Philippine cinemas. The special encore presentation brings back the record-breaking film, with an exclusive look at the next installment, Avengers: Doomsday, which opens in the Philippines on Dec. 16. Audiences who watch the encore screenings of Endgame will get a sneak peek at Doomsday. Tickets will be available by Sept. 11.

    Nadine Lustre, Apl.de.Ap release song

    NADINE LUSTRE has teamed up with Apl.de.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas for “Donuts,” a sleek blend of pop, hip-hop, and R&B released under Cool Girl Records. Narrated by Francis Brew of The Dawn, with a choir “oohs” in the background, the track features a Taglish verse that references the datu of Mactan, Lapu-Lapu. “Donuts” was written by Ms. Lustre, Andric Ivo Empreso, and Jan Roberts Baloloy, with production by Khalil Atienza, Elijiah Wudz Bitacura, and Isagani Palabyab. It is the second installment in a string of singles leading toward a bigger project. “Donuts” is now available on all digital music platforms worldwide.

    Seattle’s Diwa Filipino Film Fest spotlights rising talents

    FILIPINO narrative short films will be screened at the Diwa Filipino Film Festival in Seattle, Washington, in October. One film is Ang Pagbabalik ni Max Buwaya, which is also screening at the Gandhara Independent Film Festival in Pakistan this month. Set in 1989, it follows Rody (Jun Sabayton), an aging former ring villain. He navigates an isolated existence decades after his peak, relying on his old ring mask for solace as time moves past him, yet he decides to train for one last bout. The film is written and directed by John Luke Miraflor. Another film set to screen at the festival in Seattle is Sa Pwesto ni Pistong, directed by Vincent Joseph “VinJo” Entuna. The historical period piece centers on a barber navigating a turbulent period while tending to a diverse clientele, from a powerful hacendero to an idealistic young nephew. Both films, among others, will be screened at the Wing Luke Museum in Seattle on Oct. 3 and 4.

    K-pop group BIGBANG to perform in Manila

    K-POP icon BIGBANG is going on tour as a group for the first time in nine years in the BIGBANG 2026-2027 WORLD TOUR < XX : COSMOS >. There will be 33 shows in stadiums across the globe to mark the group’s 20th anniversary. One stop is Manila, promoted by AEG Presents Asia and Ovation Productions, Inc. with YG Entertainment. It will take place at the SMDC Festival Grounds at Parañaque City, on Feb. 20, 2027. BIGBANG fans can sign up for the BIGBANG VIP membership survey via the official b.stage platform until Sept. 11, 11:59 p.m., to be eligible for the VIP membership presale, which takes place on Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. General ticket sales start Sept. 21 via SM Ticketmaster.

    Supergirlstreaming exclusively on HBO Max

    ON Sept. 10, DC Studios’ Supergirl will make its global streaming debut exclusively on HBO Max. Supergirlstars Milly Alcock, Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, David Corenswet, and Jason Momoa. The film reveals the origin of interplanetary nomad Kara Zor-El, a.k.a. Supergirl, cousin of Superman. She goes on an epic, interstellar journey to save the life of her best friend, her dog Krypto. The movie is written by Ana Nogueira, directed by Craig Gillespie, and produced by DC Studios.

    ‘Harry Potter: A Yule Ball’ extends Manila run

    THE ongoing Manila run of “Harry Potter: A Yule Ball Celebration” has been extended to Dec. 13. The festive celebration takes place at The Space at Solaire, Parañaque City. Presented by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and Fever in collaboration with GMG Productions, the official interactive experience brings the iconic Yule Ball from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to life in Manila as part of a year-long celebration marking 25 years since Harry Potter first arrived on the big screen. Tickets are available via TicketWorld, starting at P1,500 for children aged four to 10 attending Family Sessions, and P2,750 for General Admission. Guests can also enjoy Four-Ticket Bundles starting at P9,000, while senior citizen and PWD tickets start at P2,200. Premium pricing applies to select dates and sessions.
