It looks like a neon-pastel luxury playground, complete with a swimming pool, sauna and landscaped gardens — but behind the doors of Australia’s newest share house, more than 80 cameras are waiting to capture every move.
For the first time, the doors of the brand-new Big Brother house have been opened, offering an exclusive glimpse inside the colourful Brisbane property where contestants will live, sleep and scheme in 2026.

Built within the Screen Queensland Studios at Hemmant, the house marks the reality television franchise’s departure from Dreamworld on the Gold Coast. And, this time, Big Brother has gone upmarket.
Designer and art director Kimberley Connor said the brief was to create something distinctly Brisbane, with a more luxurious and welcoming feel.
“We wanted to elevate it and make it a bit more luxe this year,” she said.
“I really wanted to do a house for them that was something they could be really comfortable in.”

The result is a playful mix of soft pastels, darker tones, bold patterns and oversized furnishings.
“Each time you walk into a new room, it’s a new experience,” she said.
The house features a formal lounge and dining room, and a central nook designed as cosy retreat where contestants can escape the communal living spaces.
“It’s like going into your own cosy little restaurant within the confines of your own house,” Ms Connor said.

The design was foreshadowed in Big Brother’s original wish list, which called for “gossip nooks”, round-the-clock access and, rather bizarrely, “mad tuna storage” — which the pantry will have.
The house also features its own shop, two dedicated task rooms, and a separate dressing room.
And anyone hoping for their own bedroom is in for a rude shock.
In typical Big Brother fashion, all the contestants will sleep in one giant communal bedroom, while frosted shower screens provide limited privacy in the bathroom.

The property does offer some impressive lifestyle perks, with a ‘garden health spa’ area featuring a swimming pool and sauna, providing space for housemates to work out, practice yoga or indulge in some ‘self-care’.
The famous Big Brother diary room chair also makes a return, giving contestants somewhere to share their frustrations, secrets and strategies away from their fellow housemates.
The relocation to Brisbane follows a challenging return to Dreamworld in 2025, when theme park visitors were reportedly able to communicate with contestants and wet weather disrupted live broadcasts.

The new location, within Screen Queensland’s 3.6ha production facility at Hemmant, provides a more controlled environment with dedicated production infrastructure.
Returning host Mel Tracina has already joked about the benefits of the move.
“It’s a new location, with a new house, filled with new housemates but don’t worry, it’s still the same old scheming Big Brother in charge,” she said.
Big Brother returns to 10 on Monday, 26 October, at 7.30pm.
It will be narrated by the original host of the series, Mike Goldman.
