Steven Parks‘s approach brings together an eye for art and materials with a sensibility informed by hospitality. Rather than relying on ornament throughout the residence, the design uses contrasts between finely grained wood, richly veined stone and a restrained backdrop.
Pale oak flooring grounds the living areas, while broad glazing brings in natural light. A marble-clad fireplace anchors the main living room. Seating areas look toward the backyard, connecting the interior gathering spaces with the landscaped grounds.
In the kitchen, Viola-style marble countertops and a matching backsplash introduce expressive stone veining. White cabinetry and brass-tone fittings balance the marble, with natural wood adding warmth to the material palette.
The primary bathroom carries that palette into a more intimate setting. A freestanding marble tub forms a sculptural centerpiece, alongside a glass-enclosed, marble-clad shower and warm brass fittings.
Outside, mature landscaping and olive trees frame the grounds. A swimming pool anchors the backyard, with space for gathering, entertaining or retreating outdoors. The parcel also accommodates a three-car garage.
