UWM Holdings Corp., the parent company of leading U.S. mortgage lender United Wholesale Mortgage (UMW), announced Thursday its plan to raise $500 million in debt through a private offering of senior notes that mature in 2030.  The company intends to use the proceeds to pay down outstanding amounts on its mortgage servicing rights (MSR) facilities and for general corporate purposes, according to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Rocket Mortgage, the third-largest U.S. mortgage lender, is suing the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), alleging the agency is “unfairly” holding the company accountable for the actions of an independent appraiser in a 2021 case.  The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in U.S District Court in Colorado.
