Former One Direction singer Liam Payne has died, according to multiple reports, after falling from his hotel balcony in Argentina, according to multiple reports. He was 31.
According to Argentine outlet La Nación, police in the Palermo neighborhood were called to the Casa Sur hotel after reports that a man was behaving aggressively in the building.
Alberto Crescenti, head of the state emergency medical system, said, “We were alerted about a person who was in an internal courtyard of Casa Sur Hotel.”
He added that first responders “arrived and confirmed the man’s death. We later learned that he was a singer in a musical group. Unfortunately, he had injuries incompatible with life as a result of his fall, so we had to confirm his death. There was no possibility of resuscitation.”
Representatives for Payne did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.
