PUEBLO, CO (CelebrityAccess) — Country music artist Scotty McCreery paused his show at the Colorado State Fair on August 24th after a man in the crowd was alleged to have struck a female fan.
The incident, captured in a fan-made video, comes as McCreery was beginning to perform his recent hit “It Matters To Her” when he paused the song mid-stream.
“Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Right here. Right here,” McCreery says, gesturing to the audience. “That’s a lady you just hit, sir. Absolutely not. Who just hit the lady?”
McCreey then summons police and venue security to address the situation, calling for the audience to help identify the alleged perpetrator.
After security responds to the incident, McCreey says “Got em? All Good?” before adding “Whoever you are, that’s the definition of a coward, hitting a lady. Get the heck out of here.”
A rep for the Colorado State Fair confirmed to NBC News that an incident occurred during the show and asked any fans with video of the alleged assault to share it with the fair’s security team.
“Colorado State Fair security assisted with crowd control. This incident is still under investigation and we cannot comment further,” Olga Robak, director of communications with The Colorado Department of Agriculture told NBC News in an emailed statement.
