Wicked costars Ariana Grande and Bowen Yang proved besties do it better during the Saturday, October 12, episode of Saturday Night Live. Grande, 31, returned to host Saturday’s episode — her second time emceeing the variety show after 2016 — where she showed off her enduring bond with Yang, 33. (Grande and Yang, of course, met while filming the upcoming movie musical Wicked, starring as Galinda/Glinda and fellow Shiz University student Pfannee, respectively.) To kick off her monologue, Grande sang a meta tune about her intentions not to turn the episode into a musical. (The pop star did end up…

Ariana Grande’s got her own distinct voice, but she can still imitate just about any big singer in Hollywood … paying tribute to some incredible female vocalists during her tongue-in-cheek “Saturday Night Live” monologue. The singer-songwriter hosted ‘SNL’ for the second time … having first helmed the program way back in 2016 — pointing out how when she hosted last time, America also had a female nominee for president, and hoping it goes better for Kamala Harris than Hillary Clinton. Grande then says she’s lucky she’s to star in the movie version of the Broadway show “Wicked” — set for…

Across the country, in Rochester Hills, Michigan, Tina Barton had her own brush with election-related violence. For more than three decades, Barton, a Republican, served in government, eventually landing the role of city clerk. That office required her to administer elections and maintain voter files, among other duties. But over the years, she had seen tensions rise. There were early signs of discord in the 2000 election between Democrat Al Gore and Republican George W Bush, a race decided by a few thousand votes in Florida. Barton also noticed election denialism years later, in 2016. At the time, Green Party…
