This Clinton Hill co-op, which is going for $735,000, gets a lot of natural light as shown in this listing photo.

For under a million dollars, one can find all sorts of housing configurations: park- and subway-adjacent studios, one-bedrooms hidden in carriage houses or former shoe factories, and even the occasional true two-bedroom. We’re combing the market for particularly spacious, nicely renovated, or otherwise worth-a-look apartments at various six-digit price points.
This week we have an apartment with a giant terrace and a two-bedroom in Park Slope just down the street from Bill de Blasio’s gym.
The bedroom in this co-op can fit a king-sized bed, as shown in this listing photo.

A classic one-bedroom in the Clinton Hill co-ops, a 12-building complex in the heart of Clinton Hill. The apartment gets a lot of light and comes with five closets for maximum storage. You’re close to multiple trains and the restaurants on DeKalb that are all nice but kind of the same. Monthlies are $1,139 but come with a laundry room, 24-hour security, and a package room. The courtyard is lovely instead of depressing. Another one-bedroom a floor up with the same layout is going for $100,000 more
This studio still has a nook for the bed and a giant terrace off the living room, as shown in this listing photo.

“A terrace lover’s dream!” is how the listing for this studio starts and we agree. This apartment is essentially one big square but whatever you lack in separated living space you make up with in 120-square-feet of private outdoor space. No tiny balconettes here! Plus there are hardwood floors and an alcove for your bed. Monthlies aren’t cheap at $1,155 but you get bike storage, a gym, and a 24-hour doorman.
The living room has French doors that open up into the bedroom, as shown in this listing photo.

This listing one block off of Prospect Park just saw a small price drop. Part of an 8-unit co-op, the monthlies are somewhat affordable at $990 and comes with a storage cage and laundry. There are charming French doors into the living room and the kitchen is sizeable, with new stainless steel appliances that include a dishwasher. Plus, it’s just two blocks away from Bill de Blasio’s once preferred YMCA.
The living room featured in this Gramercy Park listing photo opens up to 17th Street, a landmarked block.

A pre-war apartment with two bedrooms and a home office on a landmarked block in Gramercy Park. The kitchen is eat-in and comes with new appliances, including a combination washer dryer so you might have to get used to washing your clothes in there. The bathroom is on the smaller side but has also been newly renovated and still comes with a full bath. Monthlies are $1,520 but you are in one of the nicest neighborhoods in the city, which I’m assuming means you’ve got some dough anyway.
