LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum has unveiled its Centennial Legacy Walkway, one of the final programs connected to its Centennial Celebration, a lasting tribute to the 100-year legacy of the iconic stadium. The Centennial Legacy Walkway provides a physical opportunity for generations of Angelinos to commemorate their special memories at the LA Coliseum. The first installation of the Centennial Legacy Walkway features more than 2,000 personalized bricks surrounding the Coliseum logo. It sits in the venue’s Olympic Plaza in front of the famed center arch of the historic Peristyle.
The Centennial Legacy Walkway comprises granite and clay pavers and includes 100 unique pavers inscribed with Legacy Moments of the stadium’s greatest events distributed throughout the paver area. Surrounding these Legacy Moments are the personalized pavers from a wide variety of public members, capturing their special memories. Significant Legacy Moments that have taken place in the Coliseum include the 1932 Olympics (July 30-August 14, 1932), an appearance by 32nd President Franklin D. Roosevelt (October 1, 1935), the Inaugural Rams Game at the LA Coliseum (September 6, 1946), Super Bowl I (January 15, 1967), Rolling Stones (October 9 & 11, 1981), 1984 Olympic Games (July 28-August 12, 1984), X Games (August 16, 2003) and KX5 Concert (December 10, 2022).

Dr. Art Bartner, who served as the Director of Spirit of Troy, the University of Southern California’s Marching Band, from 1970-2020, received the First Brick installed in the Centennial Legacy Walkway due to his special significance to the Legacy of the LA Coliseum. Having spent 50 years as the Marching Band Director and serving as the Band Director for the 1984 Olympics, Dr. Bartner has performed at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum over 300 times in front of more than 19 million fans.
